This award-winning year has been a blockbuster for CRA Construction! We’ve proudly completed a wide range of commercial and residential plastering projects across south-east Queensland, expanded our team and capabilities, and invested in numerous training opportunities for our team members.
One of the biggest standouts of the year has been all the awards CRA and our Directors have been nominated for and won. It has been incredibly exciting to be recognised for our dedication to growth, training and hard work.
CRA was beyond delighted to participate in the prestigious Queensland Training Awards.
Conducted by the Queensland Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, these awards shine a spotlight on excellence in training in vocational education and training (VET).
In July, CRA won the 2024 Training Award for the Metropolitan Region of QLD!
This award recognised the significant investment we make in our employees. In 2024, we hired 7 apprentices, enrolled 6 of our qualified tradies in dual trade apprenticeships, and ran a series of workshops on team development focusing on safety, teamwork, and connecting as a unit for a strong team culture.
CRA was honoured to be recognised with this award for our dedication to innovation and best practices in vocational education and training.

In August, CRA’s cofounder and director was given an Honourable Mention for AusMumpreneur of the Year Award.
She was also a finalist in two other categories: Business Excellence and People’s choice – Business Awards.
The AusMumpreneur Awards are all about supporting Australian mums in business, challenging the stereotypes and raising awareness about the contributions made by women with young children to the Australian economy.
Kim was recognised for her incredible efforts as a woman working in the male-dominated construction industry. With a toddler in tow, she helped her husband Chris to launch CRA Construction. Since then, she has only become more involved, pioneering CRA’s values, dedication to training and business growth.
Kim has also been asked to join AusMumpreneur in co-authoring a book next year about how she found her confidence in the construction industry.

In September, Kim & Chris were named as finalists in the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards.
These prestigious awards aim to recognise Brisbane’s most successful business founders under 40.
The associated gala dinner also serves as a rare opportunity for the city’s emerging leaders to meet, connect, and exchange ideas in a fun and relaxed environment.
Kim & Chris were thrilled and honoured to be recognised for their effort in establishing CRA as a thriving business leading the industry in plastering.

Rounding out a multi award-winning year of success, our co-founder Kim won the Contribution to Construction Award Category in the Awesome Women In Construction (AWIC) Awards.
AWIC is an organisation near and dear to Kim’s heart. It is a not-for-profit association that provides support, resources, and networking opportunities to women in Australia’s construction industry. They foster a unique community of women facing similar challenges and opportunities.
Kim was also named as a finalist in the Big Impact and Building the Future of Women in Construction categories.
CRA was also delighted to see our Trainee Estimator Chelsea named as a finalist in the Females 20-24 years old category.
